Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that improve your health. Prebiotics, on the other hand, supply food or energy to probiotics. Probiotics are high-fiber foods that your body can't fully digest, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
After being digested, prebiotics go down to the lower digestive system, or big intestine, where they meet probiotics. Prebiotics are the food that your probiotics need to grow and thrive. Eat foods that are high in both prebiotics and probiotics to improve your gut health.
Probiotic-rich foods include:
Cottage cheese is a form of cheese created from yogurt.
Bread made with kefir kombucha and sourdough starter
Sauerkraut made from tempeh or fermented pickles
Soup with kimchi and miso
Buttermilk
Cheeses with a velvety texture
Prebiotic-rich foods include:
Grass (whole)
Bananas
Greens
Garlic sArtichokes
Soybeans sOnions
Beans
Asparagus
Is there a threat?
Probiotics are generally thought to be safe for healthy persons. In the human body, these bacteria are already present. On the other hand, everyone with a weaker immune system or a persistent sickness is at danger.
